SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and provide guidance for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historic structures in disaster-affected areas.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate historic preservation requirements into disaster recovery efforts.
  • Prepare and review project documents to ensure compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and FEMA guidelines.
  • Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal to manage documentation related to historic preservation.
  • Provide expert input on determination memorandums and appeals regarding historic preservation issues.
  • Stay current with FEMA training requirements and best practices in historic preservation.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    • Meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation with 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications:
    • Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and/or
    • National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) certification.
  • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
    • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
    • IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
  • Strong knowledge of historical architecture and federal preservation standards.
  • Proficiency in architectural design and analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Work onsite in North Carolina.
  • Must possess EOD.
