SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct floodplain assessments and manage development projects in compliance with FEMA and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports on flood risk reduction strategies and project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement flood mitigation solutions.
- Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal for documentation, reporting, and transparency.
- Provide technical expertise on floodplain management policies and procedures to community stakeholders.
- Conduct and participate in FEMA training and development initiatives, including courses like IS-1000 and EMI E0273.
- Stay current with FEMA regulations and floodplain management best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a related field with professional registration.
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal – Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- EMI E0273: Managing Floodplain Development through the National Flood Insurance Program
- Strong knowledge of FEMA’s Public Assistance Programs and floodplain management best practices.
- Proficiency in using FEMA Grants Portal and other related tools for reporting and documentation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
